Biography

The development of Raptor Chat began in the summer of 1998, although it was not until November 12th, 1999 that the first version was released. Since that time Raptor Chat has gone through three major versions, 99, 2000 and now 2001. The improvements between each version were enormous, as Joseph developed his programming skills through Raptor Chat, with it being his very first complete windows program developed. Joseph Buaron the programmer and graphics designer of Raptor Chat began the project at the age of 17 simply for entertainment. He has always loved programming and website design, Raptor Chat soon became Joseph's hobby and he quickly expanded upon his skill and knowledge bringing Raptor Chat to where it is today.

The name Raptor Chat came from a StarCraft/Brood-War clan founded by Joseph a few weeks after Blizzard Entertainment's release of StarCraft. The clan's name was The Raptor Clan and it lasted for over a year, coming to an end when Joseph became too preoccupied with Raptor Chat. As time passed it became time for Joseph to get a real job, he would have had to put Raptor Chat on hold and let go of his favorite project. It was then when he decided to not get a job, and in place of that start-up a company where he could work and enjoy himself at the same time. Since Raptor Chat is provided as a free program, an alternative method is required for revenue and that alternative is ad banners, which are displayed within the program.
