               System Variables

What are system variables?

Variables are used to store values, there are many built in system variables for Raptor Chat. There purpose is to provide you with information for a very rapidly changing environment. Under "Raptor Chat/Options/Variables/System Variables" you will find a complete list of system variables and their values. There are two types of values that a variable may contain, those being strings and integers. An integer value is a number, and string values are arrays of characters, making up words and sentences.

Important Notes:

  • Variables may be entered anywhere where a message is being sent to the server.
  • If you do not want text formatting then add "" to the start of the line, example:
"Visit <website>" will display "Visit http://www.raptorchat.com/"
"Visit <website>" will display "Visit <website>"
  • Placing a variable in "{}" will prevent it from being formatted, example:
"Today is <date> and it is currently <time> EST" will display "Today is 16/8/2001 and it is currently 3:42:24 EST"
"Today is {<date>} and it is currently <time> EST" will display "Today is {<date>} and it is currently 3:42:24 EST"
